The Best Fairway Estates Independence Day Celebration Ever!

Thanks to everyone who attended the Annual Fairway Estates 4th of July Celebration! We had a great time celebrating our nation and paying tribute to the tradition of wearing our red, white, and blue in a parade of all ages... playing games... winning ribbons… talking to old friends and neighbors… and eating! It was our privilege to honor four of the fine young ladies who started this great event in 1970 – Edith Kruse, JJ Dodson, Betty Heermann, and Beverly Cates. Did you know... back in day, these ladies would get up and meet at 6am on the day of the event to MAKE all of the sandwiches! They would also HAND WRITE the year and the event for all the ribbon winners on the back of ribbons! We have not kept up with these ladies in all the details… but the games have endured! Start with the penny scramble and end with the egg toss! Then wrap up with the ice melt to cool off and “clean up” followed by a little rest and relaxation over a wonderful picnic lunch. We had a huge attendance this year! It was so much fun to meet new neighbors, catch up with old friends, and as always tease the firemen into joining all the fun!!! Who knew a fireman’s boot would only fly one distance?! (they all tied in the shoe kick!)

Fairway Estates Founding Mother's Are Honored!

Thank you Edith Kruse, Betty Heermann, JJ Dodson and Beverly Cates for creating this wonderful neighborhood tradition that has been going strong for 51+ Years!!

We love our Firefighters and our Fairway Estates volunteers!

A great big THANK YOU to the firemen for leading the parade and lending their flag pole for our joint pledge of allegiance and singing of the national anthem. It was a huge treat to see the ladder truck extended and have a quick tour of the truck and equipment. But our GREATEST THANKS goes to the volunteers who helped with the decorations, games, food, the set-up and breakdown of tents, trash clean up, and all the other odd jobs needed to pull off the festivities. We truly could not have done it without you. THANK YOU!!!

Thanks to everyone for coming and having a good time. We hope to see you all again next year!

Fourth of July Photos! The secret is out! FE is the best neighborhood in FoCo land!

Let's all give a special heartfelt thank you to Laura Heermann Langford and Sara Heermann Buchleiter for organizing and planning this incredible tradition that brings together our wonderful neighborhood community and creates lasting memories.

The Community Planter is restored after tree company truck drives over rocks!

A tree company accidentally drove over our planter breaking apart our stones. David Ramsay and Kevin Stockbridge came to the rescue and purchased new heavy duty stones and embedded them into the ground. Next truck that does that, Beware! Thank you guys for making the planter better than ever! A big shout out to the amazing crew of neighbors who water and weed our little planter! Community involvement is how we roll in Fairway Estates. Our quiet helpers include: Jeanne Papenthien, Laura Langford, Joann Berrian, Gary & Sharon Nordic, Cricket Brown, Kevin & Amie Stockbridge, Jayne Hennen and Sara Buchleiter.
